Havana

Cuba

A city of son, rum and fifty years of stillness.

The culture

Why we bridge here

Havana is a city preserved by circumstance: 1950s American cars, crumbling baroque facades and a music culture that never stopped. It is one of the few places on earth where you can hear a genre in the room it was invented in.

Son cubano is the root of salsa, and it is still played live in small rooms across the city. Alongside it runs Santería, a living Afro-Cuban religion, and a strong tradition of street-level poetry, dance and conversation that your host will open up for you.
